Said by many to be the future of telecoms, Voice-Over Internet Protocol (VoIP) utilises the power of the Internet and broadband technology, putting your calls through the World Wide Web, rather than a standard telephone line.

The major benefit of this is dramatically reduced call costs: because your broadband connection is always open, there is no extra cost to making a call (which is basically a transfer of data) if the recipient of the call is also using VoIP technology.
